Brain size may not have changed much over the years but the centers within the brain have assuredly evolved over the millennia. For instance, the medulla, responsible for instinctive survival, was likely much larger 50K years ago when humans had to rely heavily on natural, violent or evasive instinct to survive. Over the years, the need for a 'strong' medulla has likely lessened and, with it, the amount of neurons shooting through that portion of the brain.

Koko was a fraud and could not do all of those things.
But she was just an example of what our ancestors from several million years ago might have been capable of. A couple hundred thousand years is very recent by comparison.

Cro Magnons were the first modern humans in Europe and they had a larger brain capacity than people today. (Humans first entered Europe about 40k years ago). So I'd say you would have to go back at least that far, probably closer to 100k years.

A good question. I read a while back that there was a dog burial in the European Paleolithic. They buried the dog with a mammoth bone in its mouth. So it's clear they were using dogs to hunt mammoth and even gave them burials.

You are mixing up nutrition effects with evolution effects. Rapid changes in height and eyesight are probably due to the former.
To answer your question: I doubt the 10,000 year old DNA folks would be that much different if they were raised by modern families. Probably comparable to modern day Alabama.

I don’t think it exploded. Rather, I think the advantages of using symbols and language were enhanced by the selection processes of evolution, causing the expression of creativity to begin being “written down” as 2D and 3D representations 50,000-70,000 years ago.
This was when modern man first began to leave evidence that he had evolved to our modern state, both cognitively and physically. Coincidentally, there is evidence that H. sapiens neanderthalensis had also reached a similar cognitive state during this period.

Man, this is probably a complete softball question for many flavors of PHDs....alas, I'm just an idiot with a keyboard in front of me.
My understanding is that we've been able to identify the majority of the primary functions for each center within the brain and can clearly scan for normal/abnormal neural activity within those centers.
If you think of that neural activity as being similar to say the root system of a plant, tunnels in ant colonies, or looking at where rats most commonly live, the prevalence of each item will be considerably higher where there's the most activity. Neural pathways are much the same as we evolve to rely on certain skills or instincts more often than others over the years and these changes are edited within our DNA. A human living 50k years ago would have far different minor edits in their DNA than a modern day human's edits, leading to noticeable differences, both physiologically and intellectually.

Not necessarily. The current thinking is that there was a major bottleneck event 60 - 70kya (roughly coinciding with some catastrophic volcanic eruptions). If that is indeed true, then it's possible, perhaps even likely, that the only humans that survived to continue propagating had certain unique brain phenotypes that the vast majority of the human population of the time did not.
