If There's an Apple in your Hedgerow.....

.... don't be alarmed now...
WTF is there an apple in my hedges?
Culdesac lot in back of subdivision, hedges are 40 ft off the street. It's in the back of the hedge (pic taken through window), not the front. The apple still has the store label on it, only 1 worm hole, and is otherwise still firm. This is a relatively new apple. I only discovered it trimming the hedges this morning.

I felt just like that gif when I saw it. I touched it to examine it, make sure my mind wasn't playing tricks on me, and left it there.... might be some weird voodoo shite if I frick with that apple.

Mystery solved.
It was my wife's apple.
We were going out of town for a week recently and she was getting rid of anything perishable, and on the way out the door, I was already in the car waiting for her, she saw an apple on the counter and grabbed it and tossed it in the shrub because women have snakes in their head.
The real explanation is even weirder than what I was imagining.
