If the virus “was here since January”

Then we should still have had as many people going to the hospital and getting put on ventilators and in the ICU and dying regardless of testing. Why is it that the seriousness of the disease is just happening now? It can’t be the testing. You don’t get Tested and then sick. You get sick then get tested.
ETA: not disputing that, I’m just wondering why there is such a surge now in ICU numbers

Teenager in my town died from pneumonia in January... sad

The only explanation is the "this is a different strain of flu/the flu shot this year wasnt effective" narrative that may have been going around at the beginning of the virus' spread and people just werent being diagnosed correctly. It disguised as a bad flu season for a little bit

Are ICU's around the nation really that bad off now? You hear conflicting numbers. I'm sure Mardi Gras contributed to NO's but it's not as dire as you hear.

because it wasn't here in January. Or if it was, it was a small amount.

More kids are now licking toilet seats than in January.

I suspect it's been here since late November.
Heard a lot of stories about people with this symptoms not testing positive for flu or strep.

I know of a person currently in an ICU just for quarantine purposes. Question the numbers.

Which is because the CCP lied to the world.
F the Chinese government.

Where do the 25,000 people that die of the flu die? Why don’t they fill up hospitals?

If it was here in January it couldn’t have been nearly as prevalent or the hospitals would have seen the breakout sooner

It still acts like a wave, difference being the wave began long time ago

Flu B hit pretty hard this year for quite awhile in December and January. Pretty much every flu kid I had out at work got a positive test for that strain.
That said, there were some “flu like illness” that tested negative for both A and B. Those I’d be most curious about.

1+ This "flu like illness" happens EVERY year. Previously Dr's, NP's, PA's, nurses and patients accepted the diagnosis of the "flu like illness" that's negative for Flu A and B. Now many of these same people think all those illnesses are Coronavirus. That may prove to be true, but it's likely not true. We'll know later when someone tests some of these "flu like illness" patients for antibody levels to Coronavirus (indicating whether or not they had a recent Coronavirus illness.)

I think it has been here longer than we have been testing for it. I would love for the FDA to fast track the antibody tests like they did the active tests, but getting results from an antibody test won't fuel the fire.

CBS reported 02/08/20 1st death in US confirmed as cases continue to rise. It was here in Jan, probably in mid 2019.

I'm still convinced I had it in late-December. I was with friends, got sick while visiting them, they got sick as well - but their young children did not. Coincidence? Maybe. But who knows?

I had something in Feb. My lungs felt like someone was stabbing them. Waves of fever. It was weird. I am suspect now I may have had it. Felt terrible.

I’d assume because that’s 25k over the span of a year

It is a quantum virus. It changes when observed.
