If every major city in America becomes pro open container then why would people keep coming to New Orleans?
Open container laws are not the same as blue laws.
Louisiana had some of the strictest blue laws in the country prior to the mid 1980s. They prohibited the sale of all sorts of things, including liquor, on Sundays. I was working in a home improvement store when that changed, prior to that we were closed, by law, on Sundays.

I know a lot of people that visit New Orleans regularly from all over the country and not one goes there to gamble. Not one.
