If I’m drunk but my kid is driving the golf cart can they still give me a DUI?

How about not be drunk? Nobody likes being around a drunk including your kid.

No unless you are in the drivers seat and your kid is on your lap. Then it would be a hard sell to a Judge that you weren’t operating the vehicle.

That should be the least of this dude’s worries. He’s got a lot of people in line waiting for their promised servicing.

Generally speaking no. Won’t stop them from tossing you one, and a beating, anyway though for being a giant a-hole. Then you gotta fight it in court

Steve McNair got a DUI once when he was the passenger because it was his car and he let another drunk drive it.

If the kid doesn't have a license some jurisdictions consider you the driver.

I thought this might die with the hurricane thread; nope, it might be becoming permanent OT lore.

Not true for everyone. Some people get infinitely more fun and more relaxed when drunk.

My uncle was a civil engineer and very cantankerous about it. Give him 2 or 3 scotch and sodas and he was a laugh machine!

Just tell the cop the kid is a sovereign citizen and is just travelling. The cop has to let you go.

If your kid doesn't have a full driver's license, yes. And you'd deserve it for being a shitty parent putting your kid in that situation.
