I started this thread thinking and hoping it would be a few pages of rational and informative discussion

I hate to see the infighting

I live right off Magazine a few blocks from Napoleon and I love it. You can walk to Mardi Gras and the Irish Channel parade. Close walking distance to hundreds of bars and restaurants and Tipitinas, Have ample places to park my car for free. Plus the neighborhood is very close, I knew everyone on my block within a month of moving in.

Wouldn't live anywhere else in New Orleans

GLT, you got some great info brother, take it and make the best decision for you.
Sadly, a Millennial Loser tried to derail your thread with ignorant replies to those who called him out.
I grew up in NOLA and never once felt scared, or feared for my life when going out uptown, the CBD, or Warehouse District.
You just have to use common sense, no different than living in HOU, DAL, ATL, CHI, etc...

I’ve never lived Uptown , but i did live in the Warehouse Dist while single, and there are good times to be had.. this was within the last ten yrs, since Rouse’s has been open and Uber has existed.. Prior to then, i have to imagine that it would have been really hard to live in the WD, since you’d have to drive several miles to find a grocery store.. and there was zero parking around my building, so Uber’s made it possible for people to visit, whereas before people (women) couldnt drive themselves to visit you since there was no place to park.

Uptown would be fun, but i feel like crime is more of a factor there than in the WD, which seems relatively safe.

Yeah after i typed that, i realized that’s pretty subjective.. most parts of Uptown are fine but obviously in close proximity to some real problematic areas.. then again, the Warehouse Dist is close to the CBD, parts of which aren’t ultra-safe.
