LSU police received a report of a person who was possibly armed on campus Friday night, but responding officers discovered that the alleged weapon was just an umbrella, university spokesman Ernie Ballard said.

Police sent a notification to students, faculty and staff around 9:30 p.m. "out of caution," saying that an armed person was reported near the Pentagon and residential college area, Ballard said. Police located the man with the umbrella and determined there was no threat at 9:50 p.m.

"There was no threat, and LSU is pleased that someone reported suspicious activity," Ballard said.

Good Lord. Whoever reported that shite needs to be expelled. They're dragging down the value of an LSU degree.

This is what all that's been going on leads to.

Was it an automatic umbrella is the question.

They need to release the names of people who call the police for things like this.

That was LSU's false second armed person in three days. The first one was some retard hearing a person off campus talking about someone being armed so they called the cops.

Completely agree. They need to be publicly ridiculed.

That’s a touchy subject. Then people will be fearful of calling the police when they see something suspicious

How easy is it to attach a bump stock to an umbrella?

I personally modified my umbrella to be fully auto. Don't tell the government. I don't want them taking my assault umbrella.

You laugh but umbrellas can be dangerous if they fall in the wrong hands

You can put a poison tip on an umbrella to kill someone. Muh Russians do it all the time. Except when they're too busy hacking pencil and paper ballots in Michigan.

Exactly.

I would think (and LSUPD seems to agree) that it’s better to have several false alarms than to have another Virginia Tech, but what do I know. Let’s just call people idiots instead for trying to do the right thing.

That's almost as bad as some Ole Miss students getting triggered by a banana peel in a tree.

So someone carrying an umbrella on campus is considered "suspicious activity"?
Unreal.

Worse. A fully semi-automatic umbrella.

Well, I'm sure the result of this will be an umbrella ban. Could be used as a weapon you know? Remember the penguin?
