Idiomatic Expressions / Metaphors Derived From Sports & Birds

I think those two categories (sports and birds) are very common sources for idioms/metaphors in daily conversation.
Examples:
That guy was born on third base and thinks he hit a triple.
We're empty nesters now so we can travel more.
