The Mexican cartel didn't send a hitman to kill four students in Idaho.

I was talking about that with a French national recently. Canada has by far the Surliest and worst border agents. Euro ones barely acknowledge you and just stamp. England may be strict with liquids and questions like the Americans but Canada will legit ask you about any blemish. "Well it says here back in 1998 you illegally purchased and consumed liquor and were arrested for it. How will we know you won't do the same here?" Well if I were in Canada I 1998 the crime wouldn't have been illegal.
I mean seriously. Weed is legal there but if you have a weed charge your vehicle is being stripped. They must have the FBI database or something.

Well, when I mentioned the suspect probably escaping to Canada, I didn’t really mean they probably went through a checkpoint with their passport.
Figured they just crossed over on their own in some remote location between Idaho & BC. I’ve never been to the northern border, but I imagined its not patrolled very heavily. Could be wrong

Goncalves had just purchased a Range Rover and returned to school two days before she was killed, according to her mom, Kristi Goncalves.
"She just bought a brand new vehicle for herself, her first vehicle," Kristi told Fox News' Lawrence Jones.
"She went home Friday to literally go show off her new vehicle. She was like, ‘Maddie has to see my new ride. Like, she has to see this.’ And she was talking to Maddie the whole time going back and forth between the car she was buying."
That’s an interesting detail that I haven’t seen up to this point. Maybe Kaylee was the main target & someone she knew murdered her & friends in a jealous rage?
She buys a new Range Rover, goes home for the weekend to show it off, & then is murdered a few days later?

They just towed the cars for further evidence gathering???
It'd be nice to be able to give these investigators the benefit of the doubt, but this seems like an absolute clusterfrick of incompetence.
I get that they haven't had a murder there in several years, prior to this. But it's not like this is a town of a few hundred people.
It supposedly took them a week to even search the woods directly behind the house. It's absolutely baffling how they could be this incompetent.

Does anyone know who is running the investigation? I thought I saw that they brought in other agencies.

What college student buys their own Range Rover?
Is she sporting an Onlyfans account we haven’t heard about? Or is she slinging dope?

This isn't hard to believe. I read somewhere that it was a 2016 which would put it as low as in the $30k-ish range. She was graduating and had a good job lined up.

shitty things to assume

Based on the pictures, it looks like a Range Rover Evoque. If it was a 2016 model (like notbilly said), you're looking at prices around $20,000.
Not so crazy for a college student.

To be fair, someone on page 2 accused one of the victims (Maddie) of having an onlyfans. I think that turned out to be fake

Has there been any discussion about why Maddie and Kaylee were in the same room?
they weren't---at least according to the article with the house diagram. Their two bedrooms were separated by a shared bathroom and each was found in their own bed.

Thanks for clarifying.

Correct - everything I’ve read shows the 4 murders happened in 3 rooms. Only Ethan & Xana were in the same room.
Every now & then someone drops in this thread & misreads something and gets it misinterpreted

Yeah, there’s a lot of misinformation that’s confusing the story of that final night.
One article I read stated that Kaylee had recently moved and was only sleeping over herself. Can that be confirmed?

Her last post on IG was on 11/12 with all of her roommates & said she was lucky to be surrounded by them everyday.
That would be weird if she had recently moved out

Rumor Control
- There have been media questions regarding a February 2022, death on Baker St. The Latah County Coroner’s Office has confirmed the death was due to an overdose. This case is not related to the ongoing murder investigation.
-There have been online reports of a red Mustang on S. Deakin St. being processed as part of the murder investigation. This information is not accurate, and the vehicle is not connected to this incident.
-The identity of the 911 caller has not been released.
-There have been numerous media inquiries about a 1999 double stabbing in Pullman, Washington, and the 2021 double stabbing (with one death) in Salem, Oregon. While these cases share similarities with the King Street homicides, there does not appear to be any evidence to support the cases are related.
-Detectives are aware of a Latah County Sheriff’s Office incident of the report of a skinned dog but do not believe there is any evidence to support it is related to this incident. Contact Latah County Sheriff’s Office for further details.
-Detectives are also aware of a Moscow Police incident of the report of deceased animals left on a resident’s property. This was determined to be wildlife activity and not related to the murders.
-Online reports of the victims being tied and gagged are not accurate.
Got all of this info from their latest updates on Moscow PD website. The university is holding a vigil for the 4 students on campus today.

Kaylee’s mom and sister mentioned she had just returned couple of days before being murdered wanted to show Madison her car.
She was supposed to graduate in December and start working in Austin,TX. I guess she could have just needed a class or 2 that was finished online or something else like a class taking place in first part of semester and had not been living there full time recently (or didn’t have classes everyday), but her mom & sister could also have just meant that originally she was staying at home that weekend and not returning to school until Sunday afternoon.
I think they at least meant she wasn’t originally planning on being there when she was murdered, but after getting car and talking to Madison she wanted to show her the car and drove back. Whether that meant she just returned early or that she hadn’t been living there full time recently and just went back school to show car I don’t know.
