Definitely seems like a party and/or drug house. From the beginning, the Moscow police said they want anyone with information to provide any details possible. They went as far as to say no one would be in trouble and they weren’t looking to detain anyone involved in illegal drugs.

Link to this? People keep speculating Pappa Rodger and Insidelooking but I've yet to see evidence other than rumor.

I definitely feel that if Dylan was scared in any kind of way..... she would have at least txtd her friends.
Do we know that she didn't text any of the roommates right after she saw him? She may have, but then passed out.

We don't even know if her phone was in the room with her. There is a lot more the police know from her statement that isn't in the affidavit.

She was watching Tik Tok videos at around 3:30 AM, safe to assume she had her phone.
But it doesn't matter at this point, none of the murders would have been prevented.

I'm going to go ahead and guess that rule probably gets thrown out the window if there is a knife wielding murderer in the house.

I get what you're saying and I completely agree and affirm your statement. That said, when four college students are slain in gruesome fashion, the police aren't concerned about weed, pills, and such.

SIAP but I don't follow serial killers. I thought I had read most of the news on this mass killing and then, this a.m., in a Daily Mail general article about looking for a motive, I found this.
quote:
the annals of U.S. crime are not short of examples of killers who studied subjects such as criminal behaviour and forensic science. Two of America's most notorious serial killers, Dennis Rader, the 'BTK Killer', and Joseph DeAngelo, the 'Golden State Killer', both had criminal justice degrees.

Cops will certainly use weed, pills, paraphernalia or anything else they see to arrest, interview or obtain any kind of statement that provides intel/information.

Look, you cannot see the forest for the trees. Four college students were brutally stabbed and slashed to death in a town that has little to no violent crime. I've heard that it was a gruesome scene. Again, the police aren't worried about "weed, pills, paraphernalia" at this point. Further, the police certainly aren't going to arrest one (or both) of the surviving roommates on drug charges in order to obtain a statement. Think about the uproar for one second...

Deangelo was a cop, so that makes sense

What's the next steps with this case? Is this thing going to be quiet for a long time? is the trial the next time the public gets to learn anything new?

He appears in court Thursday to present his plea.
He could decide to plead guilty with some type of bargain and it never go to trial.

Gag order has been issued. If he chooses to take this to trial and not plead guilty, we won't have any additional verified info until the trial happens likely 18 months from now.

Bryan Kohberger’s next court appearance has now been rescheduled.
The murder suspect’s preliminary status hearing will now take place at 8am PST on Thursday 12 January, instead of the original time of 10am PST.
A court order announcing the change revealed that there was a scheduling conflict with the original time.
“Due to scheduling conflicts, the parties stipulated to changing the time of said hearing. Therefore, with good cause, it is hereby ordered that the Preliminary Status Hearing will be held on January 12, 2023 at 8:00 am. (PST) in Courtroom I of the Latah County Courthouse,” the order reads.
