I think in this case “targeted” means that he was obsessing with at least one of the girls and was stalking them on social media and in person.
What's interesting is how quickly they reported it being targeted. Campus was put on lock down for a bit, and then they basically told everyone not to worry because it was a targeted crime.
What on earth did they find in the house to make them think that so soon?

The relation between the girls and BK had nothing to drugs.
I agree. I am unsure why all these folks have to try and make up shite to make the victims seem like bad people.
This is clearly a social outcast stalker that escalated, and got angry and kilt them.

I mean I agree drugs weren't involved, but even if they were that doesn't make them bad people.

People who are jumping down the drug conspiracy rabbit hole are really just trying to make sense out of a horrible crime that doesn't have a motive that they want to accept.
Some people are just evil and sick, there doesn't have to be another reason.

It is only a rumor, brought by the guy that found out aboot the sheath (even though it was a wrong location) days before a chunk of the story became public knowledge. He said one of the girls was stabbed 50+ times and her face was so pounded that all of the bones were broken.
If that is true, that is the kind of damage somebody does when they have taken some slight, real or imagined, personally. He was pissed, specifically at her.

University of Idaho Greek system is about as bad as it gets with drug consumption. I personally knew people on the football team and in multiple houses trafficking hard drugs from Spokane in volume. I lived behind The Perch and those apartments were used as trap houses.
If you’re arguing that the Greek system has been cleaned that’s one thing but the comment in general is retarded.

Yep, this wasn't some random serial killer picking out a house and hitting it. He was pissed and felt rejected.
Its the passion and emotion that caused him to err.

That guy was me, and I was pretty damn close. Just wait until the trial, when they introduce the cat who trigger the Ring camera that broke this case wide open.

How about 4 college kids that obviously weren't gang affiliated or had any prior arrests being brutally stabbed to death in their home at 4am?
Y'all are making way too much of the "targeted" comment from investigators. It simply meant that there wasn't someone out there committing totally random serial killings, that there was obviously some emotional/physical connection the killer had to the victims. The "targeted" language was only meant to say that these murders weren't a completely random choosing in the moment.
The physical evidence on hand as soon as the first officer walked in the house told them as much, since the killer put in a lot of physical effort and even supposedly fought back against the victims that put up a fight. Then you have to add in the fact that this house is off the beaten path and would've been one of the last places chosen by someone simply wanting to satisfy their need to kill someone and get away with it - this was a known hangout and they literally were still getting food delivered at 4am.
Basically in short, if this were a random psychopath just wanting to commit a brutal murder and get away this would've been the last place they'd attempt it. Instead, with all the factors and risks involved - not to mention the sheer brutality - it was obviously a "targeted" attack from the beginning.
I wish we could leave the whole "targeted" discussion behind, it doesn't mean anything deeper than the fact that this wasn't a random crime of opportunity committed by some serial killer. I also wish we could leave the entire "Dylan toxicology reports, because she didn't call 911 for hours so we must dive deeper into the case in order to solve why" discussion behind.

Yeah, you’re definitely not.

People hung up on her are ridiculous. I imagine in hindsight it was scary, she probably didn't think much about it at the time.

That exact same info was floating around on TikTok at the same time. Is your source a blonde female? Because I saw a video before the affidavit came out, and before anyone even mentioned a sheath saying the exact same thing that you reported (sheath found under Ethan, one victim more brutally attacked, etc).

The LAST thing you think - especially a young and naive college girl - are that your roommates are getting stabbed to death upstairs and across the hall.
She probably saw Bryan and thought it was weird, but when her roommates didn't freak out or come flying down the stairs saying "CALL 911!" or even make a peep afterwards, she just assumed whatever it was wasn't anything worth calling cops over. Brutal murder was probably the last thing she was considering in that moment.
She was obviously weirded out enough to sink back into her room and lock the door, but i imagine she assumed her roommates were all alive and fine and if they weren't freaking out then there's no reason for her to freak out as well. Even if she thought it was someone breaking into the house to rob them, the fact that her roommates didn't react by calling police and the guy just left - not to mention she and her roommates were probably a little drunk - led her to believe everything was ok and they'd just deal with it in the morning.
I'd say this is the "Occam's razor solution" and it doesn't really go any deeper than that. Regardless, it has no bearing on the case, the evidence, the trial, or the roommates' survival so it's trivial to argue over.

fricking this. Jesus, people, let Dylan be. This poor kid is going to be traumatized for the rest of her life, if there's anything nefarious about her, we'll certainly hear about it eventually. Until then, no need to beat up on her.
