I had some that I used for a couple of days before saying frick it and just buying ice from the cstore.
I had a deep freeze to put them in but it was a pain.
Was waiting for new fridge to be delivered.

Yep and they had the handle you'd lift that moved the dividers to separate the cubes. Old school for sure---and if your hands were damp, the trays would sometime stick to them.
Speaking of "old school", how many of you had neighbors or parents who would put fruit punch of Kool-Aid in those small wax coated cups and freeze them for kids to have as treats.
One of my neighbors would make them and sell them for $.05 each when I was a kid.

My shitty LG ice maker kept getting stuck and would dump just water and I would be left with nothing but a big block of ice in the tray, so I got so mad one night I permanently broke and disabled it.
Mine won't dump the ice so it just refills the tray over and over again and spills water down in the freezer. The whole freezer becomes a big block of ice.

Ahh... yet another keeping up with the Joneses pathetic attempt at bragging thread.
Not everyone has to have that fancy and overpriced refrigerator with a massive TV screen on the front of it along with an entry level BMW in the driveway of a home that has them up to their eye balls in debt in order to feel good.

That’s what I mean. My was doing the same thing until one night I was drunk and just broke the whole damn thing.

I make cubes out of chicken stock, so that I have individual small portions (1/4 cup each) of stock ready to go. It's great when you only need a small amount for a recipe.

When I was a kid Borden had plastic popsicle sticks like the ones in the picture that my Mom used in the cups. I liked the TexJoy root beer best.

I have an icemaker in my fridge. It is not hooked up and won't be hooked up. Every icemaker I have dealt with has either broken or started leaking. I like the convenience, but I don't like the headache if/when they mess up.

Come on man. Having an ice maker in a fridge nowadays is akin to having AC in a car.
You may not have heated seats or back seat vents/Ice falling from the fridge door but if you don’t have the typical ice maker with that start/stop bar that flips up and down how old are you or your freezer?

I keep my bourbon ice cubes in a tray?

My ice machine broke so I said frick it? $2 for a couple ice trays beats a repair bill for it to break again.

Our old fridge that was in the house had the water and ice in the door. The water came out very slow and the ice maker must have been on a timer to fill the tray. Sometimes we’d get full cubes but most of the time it was like a shell of ice. Then the freezer almost completely defrosted itself and dumped water all over our floor when the ice was melting.
When we bought a new one we skipped all the fancy stuff. Instead of a side by side we have the freezer drawer in the bottom and there is an ice maker and a tray it dumps it into. If that ever breaks I’ll try to replace it but will probably just but a bag or two of ice a week and keep them in my chest freezer and refill the tray up here when it gets low.

I'm a forever ice trayer!
I've known too many that have had fridge water line breaks. Non water/ice fridges are cheaper and more durable.
