We rented a 90 year-old house in a historic neighborhood when we lived in California about 10 years ago. The refrigerator didn't have an ice maker, so we used ice trays. It wasn't a big deal, and it definitely wasn't a poor neighborhood.

So, old?

My ice maker has four large ice cube trays sitting it.

For bourbon.

Your childhood was ghetto but that doesn’t make it less fun or worthwhile than anyone else’s.

This for me as well, only a Frigidaire. Got some from Amazon and they are awesome, two twists and they all pop right out.

Like it said in my post, water cooler water.

And you know fridges have filters right?

Doesn't work for the high mineral content and whatnot in the public water.

I'm particular about the size and shape of my ice cubes.

You are correct sir. We went through that with all of the Wally World, Target and BB&B ice trays, then paid 12 bucks for a four pack of trays from Amazon (twice); they don't crack and the ice literally falls out of the damned things after two twists.

I have a fridge in my man cave that has an upper freezer space over the fridge and it came with an icemaker.

I didn't even hook it up for about 2 years but did so last summer and the damn thing doesn't work, so I pulled it out and filled 6 trays with water and make my own, which is sufficient for when I have friends over for darts or to watch a game.

My fridge in the kitchen upstairs has a great ice maker and I wouldn't want to do without it. The only time it's run out of ice is when I have my T-Day party and have between 25-30 people over. I just buy a few bags of ice and put them in a clean ice chest for drinks.

Posts like yours.

I say it's a sign your grandparents have a complete idiot for a grandson. You must be an extreme disappointment.

By the way...

My shitty LG ice maker kept getting stuck and would dump just water and I would be left with nothing but a big block of ice in the tray, so I got so mad one night I permanently broke and disabled it.

I already have a 200lb icemaker outside so now we just fill our ice bucket with that ice and frick the LG icemaker.

I don’t have an ice maker, but I don’t use your mommas ice trays. I have this 6 pack thing that makes cubes that are 2”x2”. Perfect for a mix drink.

It is a sign my house is old. We did not have a line or connection until our post flood remodel. Ice trays were fine for many years.

Bought a house while we remodeled our flood house. Came with a fridge. With a broken ice maker.

Got some old trays that are made out of aluminum. Outstanding for jello shots.

My dogs would be pissed if they couldn't get their fill of ice from the door every day.
