What? Belle is talking about people who have completed the process of legally obtaining citizenship and are getting their ceremonies cancelled. A more accurate analogy would be waiting to walk across the stage at graduation and the university says "actually you don't get a degree, rules changed"

the mere irony that this country was founded by immigrants and you all want to stop immigration is hilarious. built off the blood sweat and tears of immigrants and now we can't let anyone in.

How did it work out for the native Americans to allow unfettered, uncontrolled immigration of peoples that held vastly different values than themselves?

Again, no. They were at the last step of naturalization process. They were legally immigrating per the legal process.

Trump’s order retroactively blocked them from completing the legal process because of the country they were immigrating from.

Often times, no

These people are all already here, and that’s the problem with 90% of you retards argument. Live in reality, we aren’t going to be able to round up 10s of millions of people and get them out of here… for a million reasons. So can we stop acting like idiots and find a sensible realistic solution to a very real problem?

Or we can keep making idiotic tik toks that do nothing so we can rabble rabble with the people we already know agree with us.

So fricking dumb

That should be the first thing. Anyone who employs illegals go to jail and the workers get deported. That won’t happen. Just call ice right before payday.

That's not what we, as voters, were sold. We were told they're going after those with criminal records. Going after kids, immigrants going to court to be legal, or hardworking people who have no criminal record is not AT ALL what we were told would be happening.

There's nothing funny or "right" about ruining the life of a person who has been here for 25 years, raising a family, and working hard. Instead of upending a good family, ICE should be assisting these GOOD people through a process leading to expedited citizenship. But nah, that doesn't look as BADASS in the ICE hype videos.

Because it's cruelty for cruelty's sake and doesn't do anything positive for our country.

If he had issued an order stating that we were no longer accepting applications for immigration for X countries, that would be different. But for people who have been working for years (and LEGAL immigration takes years and a lot of bureaucracy and funds) and are almost across the finish line it's just cruel. Those are folks who have been vetted by the government.

Much of this administration has been about “owning the libs”. There’s no need to make these tik toks and X videos.

It's also worth noting that it appears the average American doesn't understand who is actually "illegal". And we've even seen some of that with some of these ICE raids, who aren't exactly the greatest at sorting out who is here legally and going through the legal process and who aren't.

A 40yo man who came here from a poor arse village in Central America, by foot, searching for a better life, got here and raised a family while busting his arse to provide for his family, is someone I'd rather have as a neighbor than probably a third of REAL American citizens. These aren't all bad people and I'm sick of y'all trying to paint these folks as bad just because they crossed an imaginary border to come here to find success.

The rotten apples? Here illegally convicted of felonies? Get em the frick out. Totally agree with you.

Why??? Do you think Jesus would support mocking, terrorizing, or making a joke about a group of people who are facing “hard times”? Or do you think that’s a very Christian thing to do?

Because it's deceitful bullshite and a slap in the face to the people who want to enter the country badly enough that they spent tens of thousands of dollars and years of their lives to do it legally. The government probably isn't doing anything illegal by changing the rules retroactively, but it erodes trust in the system and sets a bad precedent.

To refer back to my diploma example, it's like LSU saying "actually we don't allow people from North Louisiana to get degrees, thanks for the money though" as you're standing in your cap and gown.
