Please only post relevant information about the Hurricane, any updates you have from around the area, if you need any kind of help, or if you have a serious question about the storm.

All other posts should remain in the Observation thread (the original Ian Thread).

Anyone still in the area or those who evacuated follow @NWSTampaBay on Twitter. It will be the most efficient way to get information.

Also, @LeeEOC (Emergency Operations Center for Lee County)

We are heading somewhere to help feed. Not sure where yet.

www.heretoserveinc.org

I will update when we know.

Alphaandomegatd@gmail.com

Edit: most of our contacts were in northern Florida and didn’t have terrible damage.

Anyone have contact info for people in the St Augustine to Daytona beach areas?

If so please email me at the above gmail address

Thanks.

For those who are not in the area and may want to help, we have a poster (alphaandomega — hope I got that right) who will be headed to florida with a team to feed people hot meals.

I’ve donated twice — here’s the link.

Here To Serve, Inc

He hasnt asked that I share this but many of us want to help and many of us have been on the receiving end. They were in Gonzales after Ida.

Watch for his updates of where they’ll be.

Thanks Duke! What do you think we can expect in terms of wind here in Orlando?

Orlando probably catches hurricane force gusts. Enough to knock out a lot of power but it shouldnt be the scary experience of near the coast.

The big worry for Orlando is flooding.

There is a plane on the way to do one last sample of the storm.

Thanks. The local Mets here are saying this could be the worst or one of the worst storms we’ve had here, including Charley. I’ve been seeing contradicting predictions. I notice the NHC is saying hurricane force winds will come in further than originally thought since the storm is moving faster than previously thought. Do you think that makes sense? And yes I’m very concerned for the poor folks in Charlotte county.

Extra forward motion and extra strength now could bring hurricane conditions to you instead of just gusts.

Serious question... what are the odds that this a-hole doesn't make the North turn on Friday up through SC/NC and instead hugs the coast and then out to sea?

Is there a good link for estimated surge in a particular area?

What's steering it that direction? You typically see them continue NE after making a turn.

Ridge builds east of it. Pushes N to NW as it flexes.

Is there a way that information could be posted at specific times each hour so that it is easier to find at a specific time. I have trouble finding stuff through all the other chatter.

ABC Action News Live

I follow Denis Phillips. He is very good. They are live and covering more than just the Tampa area since they have viewers outside the area who are live streaming them.
