I didn’t, only that it was in downtown. Someone said the NIL deals were fricked but this is the OT and you can never tell when someone’s being serious or just being a dick so who knows.

This is unacceptable. We deserve to know local gossip.
You shall start a thread asking who knows what.
I will post in it to show solidarity.

Go.

Dump trucks are the worst on the basin. I guess they get paid by the load.

If only there was an agency that could enforce existing traffic laws. Perhaps a group with statewide jurisdiction who could patrol this stretch of the interstate to deter this type of driving. Oh wait.

It feels like it wasn't that long ago every time I'd cross the basin bridge I'd see atleast one LSP cruiser running radar, trucks stuck to the right lane doing 60mph, and anyone running 70mph+ was a madman.

Then I started noticing less and less patrol, to the point where I don't think I've seen a trooper on the bridge in several months. Everyone else noticed as well. Now if you're driving 70mph you get your doors blown off by people going 80+, trucks don't abide by the right lane only/55mph speed limit and are regularly running 70+ as well, passing on the left, etc. It feels like with the lack of patrolling has come more and more accidents again.

Right. Iberville parish SO used to run radar up there as well. LSP would have a trooper on both sides. Not anymore. Guess they’re too busy doing other things

What? I'm guessing they drive balls out so they can make more loads in a day.

Barrister started a thread asking if anyone heard a lawyer committed suicide in BR last night. He provided no details and the thread was whacked soon after.

Guess how many units Troop A has to cover West Baton Rouge, Iberville and Pointe Coupee? I'll give you a hint. Less than 2.

And I don’t buy the Waze excuse. LSP could run unmarked vehicles and make a killing in traffic

They could write exactly one ticket, a 100 passing drivers would see it taking place, and then it’s on WAZE.

Right, because the cop never moves. He sits in the same exact place all day.
One unmarked car running radar would be effective. A UC running radar and radioing ahead to 3 or 4 troopers parked a mile ahead would be a cash cow for the state.

This is 1 instance where I like injury attorneys.

If LSP doesnt want to write tickets then it's up to the companies to install and moniotr gps drive speeds in their vehicles.

Control your employees or you'll get a massive suit
