You know what, I'll avoid it at all cost, not worth the concern.

homicide and not just an accident
Yeah, no. Just an unfortunate accident. She was in the wrong place at the wrong time. So sad.

A 33-year-old Maurice woman died Tuesday morning in a four-vehicle crash on Interstate 10 over the Atchafalaya Basin, State Police said.

Tracy Franques was pronounced dead by the Iberville Parish Coroner's Office at the scene, Trooper First Class Bryan Lee said. Franques was the founder of Louisiana Law Enforcement Support

The crash occurred around mile marker 133 at about 7 a.m.

Traffic had stopped on the bridge due to congestion from an earlier crash when the driver of a 2007 International box truck swerved to avoid hitting the vehicle in front of him and slammed into Franques' 2013 Ford Focus, Lee said.

The impact pushed Franques into the vehicle in front of her, a 2013 Hyundai Sonata, Lee said. The Sonata was pushed into the right lane as Franques' Ford Focus continued forward until she hit the back of a 2016 Peterbuilt 18-wheeler.

Franques was wearing her seat belt, Lee said. Drivers of the box truck and Hyundai received minor injuries.

Toxicology samples from the other three drivers was sent to the State Crime Lab for analysis, Lee said.

No one was arrested or cited following the crash, but charges are pending, Lee said. The case will be sent to the Iberville Parish District Attorney's Office for review.

needs to pass a law saying that tractor trailers ride in the right lane at all times.

Saturday it took me 3hrs to get from lafayette to BR due to construction, and the traffic looked to be just as bad sunday, when i was going back to lafayette

I only got held up about 40 minutes Lft-BR on Sunday. What helped was that a truck about 1/2 a mile behind me stayed in the left lane and moved at the same pace as the right lane. This prevented the douches who wait until the last 100 yards before pulling into the right lane from snarling traffic for an hour.
And of course that's why these lane closures delay traffic so badly. Moves fine once in 1-lane. It's the late merging that slows it down. The State Police could do traffic control and prevent a lot of it...but they never do.

It reads as though the 2016 Peterbuilt 18 wheeler was in the left lane.

That's the way I read it too. LSP doesn't have near the presence it used to up there. As a result, many truckers use the left lane. It's fricked up. In fact, the fastest vehicles I see up there in the morning are the rock/dirt haulers. Those guys fly.

The lady posting on WAFB FB page was indeed correct with her gut feeling when her coworker didn't answer phone or texts. It was their coworker that was killed. Talk about eerie.
