Why is this area such a mess? I no longer live in South Louisiana, and haven't for some 35 years, hence my question...too much traffic for the allotted space, 18 wheelers, combination

Because people fly across the Basin. I get passed by people doing 100+ on a regular basis. Usually theres a trooper up there but once he gets pegged on Waze, everyone knows it's wide open.

Do a search on the victim's name and see what you find. Details released make me feel this may have simply been an accident though.

Been traveling the basin bridge daily since 06. I've never seen anyone going close to 100 mph. I've seen a decrease in LSP presence over the years and tractor trailers violating lane restrictions as well as switching lanes causing other motorists to brake irratically. IMO, tractor trailers are the biggest menace on that stretch of I10.

I travel the interstates everyday, and 18 wheeler pricks are the biggest problem and culprit. LA needs to pass a law saying that tractor trailers ride in the right lane at all times.

So you want big government to solve the problem? We don't need MORE regulation in Louisiana, we need less. If it gets so bad and there is a huge public outcry against them, the market will self correct and trucking companies will self-impose restrictions.
