quote:Practice rounds are frankly the best rounds to go to if you want autographs. I had an autograph book (gave to my son-in-law for his birthday) from the PGA tournament at Shoal Creek that is full of the best golfers of the time. Jack, Annie, Watson, Trevino and Norman all on the same page.
Practice round? WTF kind of 2 bit raffle was that?
I realize that going to Augusta on that week is damn cool, but seriously. A grand prize of going to the practice round?
I had a great time walking down the ropes talking to Ian Baker Finch and Tommy Armour III during one of the rounds. They were kicking the shite out of Payne Stewart and Mark O'Meara, Ian said they started at 100 a hole and I heard them press at least twice on the front. They had 7 birdies between them on the front and the other pair didn't have any. That's the kind of thing that just won't happen during the tourney.
You'll also see pros drop balls in places and try shots too you likely wouldn't see otherwise as well.

I put in for a raffle and won 2 tickets to the 2018 masters practice round with a 2 night stay at a house by Augusta, maid service and transportation to the event. My question is what the heck do I do considering I have only golfed once in my life? How much are these tickets worth if I decided to sell them or do I take my wife or a buddy?
A good friend of mine won the Bassmaster's National sweepstakes several years ago. A $40000 bass boat, a Chevy Trailblazer, a check for $25000, and some other things.
Funny thing is.. he's never been fishing in his life. He won this back when he was all into internet sweepstakes. He won all kinds of crap back then.

You lucky bastard. Pretty sure I'd damn near cry if I ever got to step foot on Augusta National
I'd have to roll around in that grass. Going to a Masters is big on my bucket list. Maybe in the Top 5.

Yeah it is for me too.
I could swing the $500 or so a ticket for the Monday or Tuesday round, but probably just going to wait a little while and be able to pay more and go on a Wednesday one day.

Bro, those tickets are worth about $600 a piece.
More than that. I'd pay 2 grand for those things.

I was present when they called your name.. The declared value is something like 4k considering you get 2 nights at a private home.. Not saying I agree with that number but thats what you got..
Pat Quigley owns Green Jacket sports and is the guy that donated the package.. He used to own Ivars.. He sells all inclusive packages to the masters every year.. Super nice guy.

1) sell em for at least a couple of grand, if not more
2) go with a buddy who plays golf, or give/sell for cheap to a couple of friends who play golf a lot ... they will owe you drinks the rest of your life - literally
3) donate to a veteran/cancer kid/etc

You could get more money selling everything separately. The room stay is your biggest value.
And I'll give you $120 for the tickets....
