That is a quote by Walter White at the end of Breaking Bad. It refers to how entering the drug trade at 50 rejuvenated him after years of drifting through a mundane life that he alluded to as a prison in an earlier episode.
I’m curious if anyone here who’s 40+ has ever found something that made life more fulfilling or interesting in middle age. Maybe a career change, a new side gig, a new hobby, an affair, a motorcycle, whatever.
Just something different you found after years of doing the same ole shite that gave you a boost.

All the old guys in my neighborhood have started playing pickle ball.
Eta: I am not one of the old guys, so your results may vary. Also, I see I have pissed off the TD pickle ball contingent.

I still haven’t found what I’m looking for.

We had child 5 right after I turned 45….I don’t have free time to ponder life’s greater meaning and how it pertains to me.

Retiring last year was it for me. I had tons of things that interested me but not enough time to enjoy them along with work and other responsibilities.
It is funny that now that all I have to worry about is less than a handful of people and damn it is refreshing.

I'm 40. Divorced after 18 years in October. Found a fun, cute 34 year old who is all about me and the sex. Feels pretty nice.

Definitely not.

Definitely not.
I recently started a side venture that’s going to allow me to do a few more things that I have been wanting to do. I’m excited about that. I am just curious what other people have done to make things more interesting at a point in their lives when things can kind of plateau.
Even people with good lives can get bored with the same routine every day.

I gave up 6 figures in Rehab after 20 yrs of working with adults post-stroke in acute and SNFs to work with kids Pre-k to 4th grade.
I am in year 3 and best decision I've made since marrying Mrs. 19 in 2003.

Been thinking about becoming a mercenary. Sounds fun.
