Got covid last week and I think I’m over it. I would say that it was just about the mildest URI I’ve ever had, but not being able to smell anything is really fricking with me. Today I went to light the stove and a minute later noticed the pan wasn’t getting hot. Could not detect the gas at all. As this is a common problem amongst us antibody positive folks, I’m surprised this has not been talked about more.

Thanks, That’s exactly what I wanted. As a bonus it’s coming from Slinging Pickle.

You’re right. Having a tiny cock would be worse. Thanks for putting it in perspective and sorry about your disability.

As someone with a rather large dick, take it from me, you don’t want a huge cock.

I would hope you get your eyesight back before your smell.

So that's a legit symptom?

Sounds crazy to just lose one of your senses temporarily

I'm sorry everybody here has Covid derangement syndrome and doesn't know how to have conversations anymore

It is the most common symptom. Seems to happen to just about everyone. Which is why I am surprised it is not really discussed more. It’s fricking weird.

My mom had COVID and got really sick. She lost her smell and taste. It took her a little over 2 weeks to regain both.

I can still taste things like sweet, sour, bitter and savory, etc.... but it is different. Smell is like 75% of what we perceive as taste I think. It is an interesting thing to appreciate.

Glad she's better, Chris. And I'm sorry for the troubles her not being able to smell when you needed a changing must have caused both of you.

They've been using Google searches for loss of smell to track outbreaks since March or so. Pubmed abstract
