There are a lot of artists in the hood. They paint murals and they draw checks

I drove through the hood a few weeks ago (maybe N Foster) and there was a big sign by the road that read "Vote Democrat"

This mural used to be on SC's campus. It turned into sort of a local landmark until they tore the building down.
