That's why I can't take the outrage serious.
Many didn't object to protesting in 2020 due to a druggie OD'ing while in police custody. Many agree GF didn't need to be restrained in the manner he was once he was cuffed. However, once the looting, shooting, violence, and destruction incurred with the "protestors" committing unlawful acts on other private citizens, that was crossing a red line.
The protestors in 2020 made few attempts to protest police stations and city halls. Instead it was terrorizing innocent civilians and destroying private property.

I guess everyone has their own definition of protest. A protest is meant to disrupt.
Let's be honest, if it wasn't an election year the George Floyd situation wouldn't have been a big story.
This is the year of midterm elections and like they say in politics.. Never waste a good crisis so this will be milked for whatever it can be. They just want to be sure you are good and mad when it comes time to vote because people are more likely to go vote when it feels personal.

Let's clarify this highway blocking deal. Normally, it's a FAFO with tweets showing an SUV hitting someone on an interstate for blocking the road with their little human chain.
Do we all agree that if someone blocks a hwy, all bets are off?

Except this is a giant convoy of semis, and tractors, blocking the highway, with their vehicles,in the capital. Because a petty little tyrant is trying to force people to take an ineffective, experimental drug (which can have fatal side effects) or lose their livelihoods.
And all for a disease with a less than 1% fatality rate.
It’s authoritarianism run rampant and it’s only to fill their pockets and show their power.
This isn’t a little human chain running onto an interstate while they Burn, Loot and Murder.
They aren’t the same. Not remotely. This convoy brought their peaceful protest right to the seat of power.

I’ve watched that video a bunch of times and it’s hard to believe it’s real. I mean I know it’s real but I would not have imagined Canada of all places would go this far.
There are multiple moments in that video that are fairly frightening but the one I keep coming back to is when he says something about her wearing a mask and she jerks it down immediately. Prior to that I thought there was some shame or a want for anonymity among the gestapo - using COVID or the cold weather as an excuse to hide their faces - but that moment was her saying ‘it doesn’t matter if you know who I am - there’s nothing you can do’.
Good on the shopkeeper for keeping his cool and not letting them in. But they’ll be back and he’s done selling coffee probably forever.
