They've been doing that for a couple years now.

Future generations will not understand what all the fuss about "privacy" was for.

Probably. This would explain the weather search but not the Cubs channel.

Google's algorithm uses your location, history, and the history and current searched in your area to full your searches.

If you were searching for the cubs game around the time the game started, chances are a shite load of other people were too, thus catapulting it to the front

Is there anyway to turn this off?

Perhaps, but why would you want to do so? It sounds like it is working to perfection. You typed in "weather" and "what" and Google completed with "at Rio Grande Village" and "channel is the Cubs game on", the precise searches you were trying to perform.

That's awesome.

You can turn it off. Just don't give apps access to your microphone

This is not new. Your phone is most definitely doing this. It's not tinfoil shite. Just helps you find shite you were talking about and so forth. Pretty creepy but it's cool as shite at the same time.

Do you idiots realize how poor battery life would be if your phone was constantly listening and doing vocal processing? Your phone would last 2 hours at most.

I'm in the same boat. Something completely irrelevant that I was talking about on the phone and then I go to Google it and it's among the first choices.

It's called "confirmation bias", you only pay attention to the time google had an ad relevant to what you were talking about and forget about all the times you opened google and it didn't give you an ad for what you were just talking about.

The only way to get them to stop is to post a status update stating that you do not give them permission to infringe on your privacy and then get at least 100 likes and 5 shares, otherwise they won't give a damn.

I phones are very sketchy (all cell phones for that matter). I know people listen on my calls all the time, and every time I'm out in the store, I see people around me pull out their cell phones and start talking. frick that. I glare at them until they quit.

Dad says "that's just regular cell phone use that people do." Yea sure - they just all happen to pull out their phones when I'm around.

I get tired of being told these are regular events when they only happen to me. I go out to eat, someone behind me with their cell phone.

And, don't forget about stingrays, the fake cell phone towers.

ETA: What helps is to turn your phone off when you are not using it. Sounds stupid, but it is really not. I'll turn it on when I want to answer texts or talk on the phone.

Are you fricking retarded? Seriously? Remember tape recorders and that new fancy shite in the 80s called VOICE ACTIVATED RECORDING?

Yea, The IPHONE 3 had voice activated recording app built in. I've left it on for 10 hours one day to capture something I suspected at lunch. It caught about 45 dog barks. Lunch conversation I was waiting for. and 45 more dog barks.

~75% battery left.

Ya big dummy. It's not constantly recording.
