Two wife’s later, he married a blind girl(30+ years his junior). They lived in Lafayette, and I was living in Lakeview. My father called to say they had a dr’s appt in NOLA and he wanted to go to dinner with my wife and I. I couldn’t understand why they had to come all the way to NOLA for a dr, so I asked him at dinner. Turns out the new blind wife had glass prosthetic eyes and during sex, one eye fell out of a socket, dropped on the floor and broke. So he literally f’d her eye out. His wife was there and though it was hilarious. My wife on the other hand was not too impressed....that was only the 2nd time she met him.

Goddamn, I don't fricking care if you're making all this stuff up on the spot.

I need more stories about your dad and his blind/deaf wives.

Unfortunately all true. In hind sight the shite's funny, but living it - it wasn't.

After he and the blind-deaf-mute wife got married, they moved into a bigger condo in Laffy that I helped move them into. BDM wife wanting to feel useful was cleaning as we were bringing in stuff. Thinking I was doing the right thing, I'd put the boxes by the wall, seemingly out the way. Unbeknownst to me, however, she used the walls to get around in new places. So, as I'm walking back from the restroom, she's coming out the kitchen and I watched her trip over one box, partially land on another, and finish the free fall by hitting her face on the carpet...the sound she made sounded demonic.

Same move, later in the day, she was sitting on the floor cleaning the fridge. I open the freezer door to get ice and left the door open while I emptied the tray. She stood up, hit her head on the door and knocked her self out. Being young, I jumped over her to get the hell out there. When my father went and took care of her, she asked him to ask me to leave because she thought I was intentionally trying to hurt her.

How does she clea, can she tell when it looks good or not? I’m wondering how she can even understand the concept of dirty.

After Katrina, we were having a difficult time finding gas for the generators, so I called him. Since he lived in Laffy, I figured he'd have an easier time. He said he'd get a few 5 gallons and meet me in Port Allen. Before I left he called me back and asked if I had a dog kennel that I wasn't using, which I did. When we meet in Port Allen, I asked what the kennel was for.

His 6th wife was blind and had a seeing eye dog. She was trained to kennel, but prior to being married the dog slept in the bed with her, so she had gotten rid of the kennel. However, when it was go time and they started getting busy the dog would bite and pull at his feet/ankles/legs the whole time thinking he was hurting the girl. He wanted to start kenneling the dog before he stared enjoying it.

I don't know if that one or fricking the eye out was the best.

I can't lie...the last sentence in my book is a Helen Keller quote.

I'd love to read your book. How do I find it?

Your dad is a truly a hero. I have always had such respect for him and what he did. I have no pity for child molesters. Only a bullet can cure them.

No he’s a orientation and mobilization specialist. He teaches blind, deaf, blind-deaf to be independent and mobile. That’s his world.

She cleans bc she wants to be sure it’s clean. She uses one hand as a guide and the other to clean.
