Drop tv and just spend all your free time and half of your work time here on the OT. Get that post count up. When you’re having that big heart attack and drop to the ground years from now, that high post count number will be he most satisfying thing you’ll think of. Imagine how fulfilled your life will be.

I sometimes have the same feeling. I work 10 hour days just to get home, put on my comfortable clothes, drink scotch, eat dinner with the wife, and watch TV for a few hours.

I think I’m going to start drinking and watching TV at a bar instead. Now that’s living.

The answer to your question is simply don't waste your free time watching TV. Do something you enjoy.

But I enjoy watching TV.

This train of thought is nice, but only because we’re all so spoiled. What animals on the planet(outside of those categorized as pets) get to spend any significant portion of their day not searching for food or shelter?

Working 9-5 is our way of ensuring food and shelter are provided, in a more civilized manner than our ancestors were accustomed.

Sounds like you live a sad life. Most people's outside of work life probably has more value than watching TV.

After work, i spend time with my kids and wife. After the kids go to bed, the wife and I will watch TV for 30-90 minutes then go to bed.

But even then, the job I have is something I enjoy immensely and while stressful at times is something i consider a calling, not a means to a paycheck.

maybe you should find a job you enjoy

so you don't like working 8 hours/day, but you want to supplement your income and have more time off while living a more luxurious life?
