El Segundo Guy

Redd Foxx said he went parking with a girl and was making out in the car. She started squealing, "Oh, Redd, kiss me where it smells." So he took her to El Segundo.

If it's truly "passive" then you're a slum lord. Gotta plunge them terlets.

I don't think that's how that joke goes.

I've always delivered it as the lady moaning "make me feel like a woman"....so the guy carries her lovingly to the kitchen and says "make me a sandwich".

Never quit a job unless you have another job. One of the golden rules of not living in a box.

See page 200 of "Warm Up the Snake: A Hollywood Memoir"
By John Rich.

The author says he witnessed Redd tell that joke as part of his warmup for the audience at a taping of "Sanford and Son."

It's also told in "Black and Blue: The Redd Foxx Story"
By Michael Seth Starr

So.... You now depend on your wife and people who don't have enough capital to own their own home. And you're more proud of smoking weed than being productive.

Yeah dude. I respect you. Sure.

Been there, done that. I took a part time job in the TX Hill country in retirement. Really enjoyed everything about for a couple of years & then the upper level genius management sent in a young, progressive new manager. I was the top sales guy in the region and he climbs on by arse one day cause I was a little behind the numbers on the 20th of the month. Tried to explain to him that he needs to relax & check back at the end of the month, but he didn’t get the message. I let him kno in no uncertain terms that I really did not need his crap & was done. This large, major retail chain is gone today. Wonder if the young, progressive managers contributed in any way :-)

What I gleaned from the OP after reading between the lines:

1. 45 and working an hourly job.
2. Was likely smoked up on weed the job and 2 new employees called him on it.
3. The big boss was called and ordered a drug test.
4. He was fired on the spot.
