It's worth it.
Wow. A sim pilot wanting to be introduced as a pilot.
"Yes I'm a pilot"
-"what airline do you fly for"
"Well I have 500 hours in a home sim"

Reminds me of the time my ex told me not to wear my JROTC medals to her dad's funeral. Frick that harlot.

I imagine this conversation happening somewhere in the background of the barbecue scene in office space.
And Greg is the O face guy.

A kid in our high school class died and a few of the ROTC kids came in uniform.
Found it odd then. Circa 1996.

By this guys standards, most men are pornstars as well from watching many hours of the hub.

None of these people are anyone that I care to associate with.

I'm a Hylian Jedi Wrestling QB for the New Orleans Saints who happens to also summons Aeons while fighting creepers with my kids.

That "sim" is probably microsoft flight simulator. Which, granted, it is incredibly detailed, and quite accurate, you ain't a pilot just because you logged 300 hours while drinking mountain dew on your couch.

This has to be fake. It reads like a George Costanza episode of Seinfeld.
I have a friend who is a Captain at United flying 737's. I assure you he did not get there by playing a video game.

People overestimate the actual fidelity and relevance of computer "simulations" to real life. Any real life activity, whether flying, driving, shooting, or whatever has a big physical / tactile / sensory component that a computer program just can't capture.
That said, the airlines / services use simulators. I'm curious how good these are. Are they mostly just for practicing procedures, or is the hands on, stick-and-rudder aspect also pretty realistic?
