If they are bad enough, yes
Get a shot & be done with it

I honestly don’t understand this, Monday is 5 days away
Are you supposed to quarantine until then?

I've personally known six people who tested positive. And two who had symptoms but tested negative.
Of the six positives, two were elderly and ended up dying with pneumonia type symptoms. The four others range in age from 32 to 64 and all had congestion with fever. Some had cough, some lost sense of taste. All four described it like a bad case of flu. These folks live in different places and some caught it on vacation so I doubt they all had the same strain of the virus.
So regarding the OP's questioning the medical staff for wanting to test his wife for covid - I'd say any time a patient has congestion with fever it would be wise to test. Why wouldn't you want to know, anyway?

I don’t get it. Did they report her as positive even though she wasn’t?
Why wouldn’t they test her if someone goes to urgent care complaining of

If this were truly the only reason for increased test counts, then we would see a marked decrease in the positivity rate. We are not seeing that. In most states, we see the opposite.

That’s pretty weird man.
No it’s not. I wanted to make sure that it made its way through my house. The kids had nothing more than a stuffy nose for 2-3 days. They couldn’t go to school anyway because I had it, might as well get some antibodies

People go to the doctor for sinus infections?
Urgent Care apparently. And then get upset when they test them for Covid

Would love to see numbers on false positives. I bet they are really high.
And what cycle number are all these tests being run at? Is it some crazy high number that any potential shred of the virus that is not even close to being transmittable is registered as positive?
So much room for error and manipulation.

Virtually every hospital admission, ER visit, and elective surgery patient get tested.

Covid hospital census and ICU impact is as acute right now as it has been since April and August spikes.

Even with every patient being tested these days, our census still is not close to April or August levels

show me on your graph, where the nadir (highest point) is besides April and August.

But the trajectory of your graph does not concern you?
