I went for my first run yesterday, was able to jog almost 6 minutes straight, a lot of it uphill, before having to walk. I was dying after that first 6 minute jog. I have a lot of work to do. My goal is to beat your 27.40 time. Thanks for the inspiration!
Keep at it! I've actually ran a few times since the 5k about three weeks ago now. I'm shooting for another one some time this Fall. Glad I could be an inspiration.

A TD race would have to be a 5.6327K (3.5 miles).

I still find it hilarious this board things a 5k under 29 minutes is hard.

For most people it is. Not saying that’s right or wrong but not a lot of people run.

Running a 5k in under 29 minutes when you have never ran, aren’t in good shape, and have only a few days to prepare is certainly a legit challenge.

I never saw an update. Are you still talking to the girl? I know y'all went out as a group after but don't know about contact after that.
Also, did you ever tell her the truth about your running history?

I forget most of this board lives in Louisiana and that's really how people live.

Time and place, love making fat people feel ever worse about themselves.

Yeah I'm sure most Arkansas fans are in tip top shape.

I don’t think half the males from my graduating class, in 1996, in IL, could do a sub 30-min 5k .... as 18 year olds in 1996.
I don’t think any of us that were in sports would have had a problem with it, but out of 1600 students (800 male), maybe 100 of us were varsity athletes? I saw way too many people dreading the 1 mile run in gym class to think they had much more left in the tank.
Plenty of people in boot camp (I.e 18 year olds from all over the country who joined the military knowing they were going to run) had problems keeping a 8:40 pace for 1.5 miles until they’d trained more. 10 minute pace for twice as far wouldn’t have bought them much.
Sub 30 off the street is something the OP should be rightfully proud of, now he just needs to collect his ‘trophy’!

You bang the girl yet?
This. Everyone is in love with this thread but from what I can tell the OP has yet to derive any benefit from his run. This thread just disappoints me until I hear of relations.

Exactly. We don’t want to know if the OP is pounding the pavement. We want to know if he’s pounding the pussy!!
