ETA we bought a $250 table for the sheriff's reelection fundraiser and a $400 table at the Friends of NRA banquet which he's a big supporter of. I consider it money well spent as insurance against such foolishness as this.

Well that's 1 owner/operator that if he gets another call to help out he's gonna hang up refusing, and probably with some "unkind" words while refusing. And you can bet all the way to booking he was reminding the cop of that fact.
Pretty dumb as well as petty of the cops to cuff n'stuff someone who could potentially save their homes from fire or flood.
Reminds me of getting stopped for speeding a little on way home from hospital call in middle of the night (wearing my scrubs). No ticket as the cop says: "I don't wanna wake up in the ER or OR to hear you tellin everyone, yep, this is the a-hole wrote me that ticket".
