That's not how anatomy works. Humans are evolved omnivores.

From a single hot dog? EXTREMELY unlikely. Plus, she's asking for that particular item, which means she's likely eaten them before.

How old is the kid? Her mom might feed her vegan hotdogs and she might not know the difference and you could get her sick.

I'm against forcing vegan diets on children in general but you don't want to ruin her night if she's not used to digesting meat. Pick your battles and introduce her at a slow pace.

Thanks for all the replies. I knew what was coming LOL. Alot of young'uns who have no idea about family, life. You'll learn
After talking with the wife, we're just gonna give time for them to grow up.We don't want to break the bond with our babies. We will just play it by ear and and hope they come around soon.

Just go buy some tofu hot dogs. It ain’t science.

ETA: If they have leather seats in their car, leather on their shoes, purses, belts or like grilled cheese sandwiches, they ain’t really vegan.

My baby is 6 I raised her from birth til 2 and a half. Then they moved. I'm just gonna do nothing, for now
They are back now and they will soon realize their stupidity. Fingers-crossed

Your math sucks, gramps. Your kid was gone for 3.5 years, not two years. But you're old, so I'll let it slide.

Enjoy me paying your SS.

Give the kid a hotdog. It's better to ask for forgiveness than it is to ask for permission.

I want to say give her the hot dogs, I really do, but....

As said before, it could make her feel ill; and as crazy as your sister sounds, it's still her kid so you should check with them.

Well as my old man tells me; you're the parent, I'm the grandpa. It's your job to raise them right, it's my job to let them have fun. Deal with.

Give her the hotdogs.

If the kid is 6 don't give her the hot dog. She will rebel soon enough on her own. Besides, no sense tipping the apple cart just yet. Your daughter will soon see the error of her ways, what with gumbo, crawfish, jambalaya, grilled steaks around all the time.

No, make her eat what her mother wants her to eat. You cook a hotdog for yourself. Don’t come in the way between your granddaughter and her future resentment of her mother.

Hot dogs are shite even for a meat. Are you seriously going to give her something that is going to increase her chances of developing cancer and heart failure? Might as well give her a cigarette

Oh please. It’s just a force meat. There’s countless force meats in charcuterie throughout the world. Now, I wouldn’t say it’s delicious, but for kids it is. Deny them being a kid and you’ll end up doing them worse harm later as they end up living off it because it was always denied them. That’s exactly what mother dearest is doing.
