I Know I’m An a-hole But How Big Of One Am I?

So I was walking into my hotel this morning and had a bit of an unpleasant altercation with a stranger. The entry has a big revolving door as well as a regular doorway next to it that’s more narrow but the same length (about 10 feet). I was walking at a modest pace, not in a rush, but not dilly dallying. As I approached the side door a woman was trudging along just ahead of me. I noticed my pace was slightly faster than hers so I started to yield until she was just about clear of the other side of the doorway. I make a move to cut around her but just as I’m about clear of the doorway she completely stops and buries her head in her phone while blocking the entire doorway (yes she was rather large).
Before I’m about to collide with her I speak up, “Please keep walking” to which she snapped her head around, glared at me and barked, “what did you say?!” To which I repeated my words “please keep walking.” She snaps again saying not everyone walks as fast as you. I decide not to bother arguing with a stranger who was oblivious to her surroundings as she blocked the doorway with her fat arse.
As I’m walking away from her she follows me through the lobby (at a pace similar to my own) cursing at me and trying to get me to engage with her. She kept calling me an arse so finally I turned around and hit her with a “you were blocking the doorway fat arse” then kept it moving till she tired herself out and I eventually got away from her gravitational pull.
Sure, I’m the a-hole. But, for fricks sake, dealing with that kind of a person day to day is what made me the a-hole I am.

You’re the a-hole
Why are you such in a hurry to get into a hotel in the morning?
Were you drunk or hungover?

If you ever speak to my wife like that again, we're gonna have a problem pal.

If you deal with assholes day to day it’s not them it’s you

She's rude, fat, and unhappy.
You gave her a reason to piss and moan, so she did.

It's not required to be nice to fat people. You're clear.

Never said she was an a-hole. Just a very obtuse woman.

If I had to tell winter texans to keep moving at HEB, like you did with this women I would be known for a three county area as being a hateful tyrant

You nearly ran over some lady, for no apparent reason, so you could get into a hotel. Then issued an order to her, after which you called her a name. You weren’t raised right. Hopefully no one treats your mother, wife or daughter like that.

Sounds like you're both the type of people who would stay at a Super 8.

That’s irritating

She’s wrong

Why? Why even do this to a complete stranger in 2024? People today are not mentally stable and will shank you or pop a cap in you so fast for stupid things. Why put yourself in a situation that could potentially escalate? And for what, an extra three seconds? She’s wrong but you’re most definitely the a-hole here.

She clearly saw you coming up fast and decided she wanted some beef. I do the stop and read phone thing when someone’s too close too but not for beefin, I just don’t like peeps up on my back.

If he was walking so much faster than her why didn't he step in front of her and hold the door open like a gentleman?

I didn’t nearly run over her. I was still more than an arm’s reach away before I spoke up. No apparent reason? I’m sorry did you not read the part where she stopped in the exit of the doorway? What does is matter what kind of building it is when there’s a doorway you don’t block it because you’re in La La land staring at your phone.
