where did this idea that you only get vaccinated if you are scared of something come from?

If you really are an RN and are refusing this vaccine (not because of legit reasons that make you not a candidate for the vaccine) you are a complete idiot and a disgrace to the nursing profession imo. I’m an RN and not an idiot so I will be getting the vaccine as soon as I possibly can. Thankfully my friends in nursing and other medical fields here are all also getting the vaccine as soon as they are allowed to.

Most of the people (rns and mds) around here seem to be split 75/25 on gonna take and not gonna take yet. I got it.

I think everyone has to weight their options and every situation is different. No way I'm taking a rushed vaccine. Why would I take a vaccine for a virus that will not affect me. Im 34 and in good health and not over weight. The vaccine is more risky than the virus for me.

Nurse, let’s say you caught Covid last week, had a mild case and were recovering fine, as were your boyfriend and children. Would you still get the vaccine?

This is what through me off about my friend. She’s a nurse and still plans on getting it in the situation above.

I’m not going to criticize your decision either way, I’m just trying to learn from it by asking questions of people that know more than me about this stuff.

People ask me computer questions all the time so I’m asking nurses and doctors about this.

What’s the downside of taking the vaccine? Other than you being an anti-vaxxer? Or just being “‘Murica to the bone, they’re coming for us all!”

It was rushed. You have a sad life.

Note a lot of nurses are opting out but I know almost no docs who are

That should speak volumes

It does. I would take the care and advice of most nurses over most doctors.

Did everyone clap?

Nope. Turned it down over the phone. No one even talks about it. No points for me.

I think what he means is that the virus is not a risk to him. For him, and a lot of people, the vaccine is more risky than the virus itself. And the opposite could be true for someone in the Covid high risk categories.

Creating a vaccine was needlessly rushed? What, spend 5 more years like this? I just want to travel again. If a vaccine makes that happen, cool. Let’s move on

IMHO it is reasonable to wait for a period to see what happens with this.

Yep. If people want to take it, that is fine. I'm not in a hurry for something like this. I rarely get flu shots either.

for most people, the risk involved for both are statistically irrelevant

if you want to bring up the "unknown risks" from the vaccine, the same could be said about COVID

so your point is baseless

You cant be serious? Of course it was rushed. The government, the pharmaceutical companies, and everyone involved have 2 trillion reasons to produce this vaccine as quickly as possible. Not to mention that Dr Fauci said it would likely take 18 months to produce a vaccine and we have approved one in less than 10 months.

How come all the MaGA folks are refusing to take a virus that trump is/was pushing hard for?

Wrong. We know alot more about the risks of COVID than we do about the vaccine. That is not debatable.

Provide specific details on the important steps that were rushed and skipped.

More people have gotten COVID than the vaccine, therefore we have more short term data. This is true.

But a sample size of 100,000+ is plenty of data.

We don't know know more about the long term risks of COVID than the vaccine.
