Oh well. No summer vacation means your kids will be emotionally damaged for the rest of their lives and become druggies. Toughen your kids up and get their asses pushing a mower all summer.

Hopefully things clear up on the next month and you can still somehow make tbe trip happen.

But if so, please dad for the love of anything plan some fun activities for the kids as well. Education is important, but the kids re going to be bored to death if their family vacation is just a schopl field trip

I’m always confused by canceled versus cancelled spellin. Today on tv, it was spelled canceled. I’ve always went with cancelled though. Any grammar police want to help out in condescending, passive aggressive fashion?

Good luck, hope it opens. Nice knowing you get a refund if not. The kids will need some sense of normalcy by then, assuming we have some at that time, and they also need socializing.

Meanwhile, patriots like Glen Beck and Dan Patrick say they are willing to die to save the economy. I bet they’re taking their grandkids on a big vacation this summer and shaking hands with everyone they see.

I'm trying to figure out whether to hit the eject button or not. We've got a house in the Smokies reserved for the first week of June. My wife manipulated her way into me OKing not just her [unhygienic after using the bathroom] parents spending time their vacation with us, they are going to be in the van for the whole 9 hour trip. My two 6' kids are going to be crammed in the back of the minivan since her short parents can't get back there with their arthritis. Both them and I (spent the week before Xmas in the hospital with lung issues) are in the "high risk" category for the Corona.

Thinking I know the answer to my question but trying to figure out how to rock the boat as little as possible. (Wife is about to pull the trigger on working from home to protect from bringing something home to me... perhaps I can weave this into that convo.)

Tricky you need to be concerned for their health so they don't go, but okay for you to go.

I grew up in a small town and DC was the first “big city” I can remember visiting as a kid. It was one of the most memorable and eye opening experiences I had. Learned a lot about the world in many different ways then that I won’t forget.

You should maybe cancel this whole thing. If not, you should 100% cancel the in-laws - for both yours and their safety.

Sounds like a fun trip that I look forward to taking my kids on when they're a little older.

Look at it this way, your trip isn't canceled. It's just postponed

Yes, going thru same issues. Daughter was to graduate in May(no pics). School visits, she is going to Bama, but when this thing blew up, backed off on those. She did not want to do Spring Break, and we have a place on the Coast. Now, plans for her Graduation trip to Europe are shot. Hell, do not even have a graduation date now. Still much to be thankful for, keep the faith, and move forward day to day. And phuccckkk China!

Had planned to take the kiddos to Washington DC for a week-long educational trip right after school let out this summer. They're at the best ages (middle/high school) for a trip like this where history comes alive.
Boooooooooooooooooooooooo

They can learn that online. You know what they can't experience online?
