My work is business casual so no need there. I really have only worn a suit to funerals in the past 6-8 years. I can't remember the last wedding I've attended but it's probably been 10 years. Most people that I interview at work don't even wear one.

You can get Calvin Klein suits and Ralph Lauren suits for around $100
Slim fit and tailored well, any normal person wont notice it isnt a $1000 suit

You can get a 100% polyester suit at Macy's for $375 LESS. Hell, you can get a 100% wool suit for $150. It's by no means the top of the line. But at least it is wool....which is what a suit SHOULD be made of. No decent suit should be "machine washable" unless, maybe, it is a cotton poplin suit.

I got a $100 suit from steinmart. It fit perfect and I still wear it. Pure luck tho. Steinmart out of bidness now. Rent one.

I just found two suits on clearance at The Menswearhouse for $99. If only I was a 38 or 42 short.

Amazon has several brands of very good blazers and jackets you can combine with dressy pants and they look great...tie or no tie. P&L is one brand of Amazon jacket; $70 shipped.

Jos. A Bank has some suits on clearance for like $89. NOt the greatest but beats dumpster diving
