I guess you think you're funny?

Ask any millionaire if they've ever had a car note? Or borrowed money to build wealth.

You couldn’t negotiate a rate lower then what you could make in the market with that money over time when interest rates were the lowest they have been in history????? Way to piss away free cash in a competitive car market.

ETA: how do you feel about anything you’ve ever bought that will have almost zero resale value? Did you get that value out of your couch, or TV, or clothes, other kids toys?? You make me money by being an idiot, so thank you!

You realize after you have negotiated the final price on anything, they want to offer you terms because the idiots out there can’t pay on time, is done for a reason, right? Use their money for your benefit. Same as taxes. I love when people are like “using our tax return to go on vacation.” Pay less taxes during the year, invest that money, and returns could pay for that trip

And you'll find tons that have. The question isn't about buying out of your means. Financing a huge note due to not being able to truly afford and not being able to pay off is way different than financing due to low interest rate.

Your new vehicle depreciated the second you drove it off the lot.

I choose to pay cash for the vehicles I drive.

Do you think paying cash prevents that?

It's a very reasonable post.

Well considering I've got way more upvotes than down.. I'd say that's confirmation enough..

No not at all.
I am not unrealistic I drive a 6 year old vehicle, my wife drives a four-year-old vehicle, my daughter drives a four-year-old vehicle all pay with cash and all will last a very long time. In the meantime we are stockpiling cash for our next vehicles.

Luckily, I have never financed anything but a house. I generally drive my vehicles for a hell of a long time and can save up the cash before it is time for a new one.

I have a car payment - 0.9% interest - it would have been stupid not to finance.

No, but I have also never purchased a vehicle. When the time comes for a new vehicle, I am sure I will carry a note.

Any self made millionaire or an active entrepreneur millionaire?

You are probably looking at more than 90% yes.

In fact, Warren Buffet’s growth strategy was centered on it.
