I have an issue with my building owner

I switched jobs in October. The new company pushed my start date back a week AFTER I had already given my notice and last date.
I fell behind a month, so he took me to court. I am caught up now (only took a couple weeks). In fact, I signed a new lease in December that became effective Jan 1 and the rent was paid on time.
I am responsible for the court fees (no problem...it's my responsibility). Last month he told me "We can work out some sort of payment arrangement for that". To this day, I haven't gotten any documentation at all.
Last week I paid a portion of it ($100)...with full intention of paying the rest in a short period of time. The other day, I get text from him saying that I need to pay the remaining amount by the end of this week or he's going to take me to court.
I texted him back stating that I never got any paperwork from him with no scheduled due dates or anything. Since then he hasn't responded.
Any suggestions?

Move to a different trailer park.

Tell him you just got back from Wuhan and are feeling a little cough. Ask to meet him in person to write him a check. Also tell him you want to shake his hand. I bet he will send some paperwork via email then.

Buy your own place and stop dealing with landlord scum

That’s a good suggestion

Impregnate his daughter. If he hurts you, he also hurts her/himself.

He clearly can't afford to do that

For starters, prepare better in the future and have a rainy day fund for these types of unexpected issues.
Landlord probably deals with people all the time that don't pay up when he's too nice so that's why he's this way. Pay him.

Have some emergency money stored up so in case of a job being delayed you don’t fall behind on rent.
Also, has to be more to the story if he took you to court after being late on one payment. What are you not telling us?

So your landlord took you to court over one months missing rent while you were still living there? No eviction?

Looks like you could trade all of your savings for my front pocket money and come out ahead.
Deadbeat.
Wishing you the best.

Why did you fall behind? That’s your fault. Pay your shite on time.

Eviction court? They are not going to make you pay anything. You have a new lease now so that is the only thing you have to follow.
Landlord made a big mistake having you sign a new lease when you still owed under the old one.

Is it hard to be stupid and broke? He took your arse to court once, and you did not get anything in writing. You think you are the only tenant he has taken to court over rent. Pay up, and get anything further in writing. Yes you are responsible for your court fees. After this lease is up find a new complex and start clean. He has a bad taste in his mouth about you from you now.
