The facts are that frivolous hospitalizations increased dramatically even as hospital admin allowed supplementary medical personnel to leave. IE, military med staff leaving louisiana in droves.

Covid only floors disappeared from most hospitals as they went from fully occupied to less than 5%

So that I'm sure I understand you, your position is that Louisiana went into exponential growth of positive tests because of an overall increase in testing, and that after the mask mandate, we so significantly reduced the rate of testing that it caused infection rates to plateau, and then begin to drop?

Refusing service != requiring reasonable accommodation.

Let's say you have a medical condition in which you bleed out of the sweat glands in your hands. You walk into a grocery store, you're stopped and told you have to put on gloves. You inform the store owner that you can't wear gloves for health reasons.

Do you honestly believe the store owner is required to allow you to bleed all over the store?

Similarly with masks re: COVID, anyone claiming to have a health issue that forbids the use of a mask can absolutely be refused to be served in the way you wish to be served, specifically that they allow you to walk around with no mask. For example, the store owner is perfectly within their rights to ask you to wait outside where they will take down what you need and then bring it out to you.

The idea that anyone who claims "medical reasons" has carte blanche to do whatever they want simply isn't reflective of reality.

I stopped by today and this is the first post I see- and it was un-ironically posted while LA and every other state where the Walts of the world hold sway are experiencing uncontrolled spread. It’s insane.

I'll try to explain one more time. Maybe a bit more slowly for the dense ones in the back...

I'm not directly comparing COVID with having literal blood coming out of your hands. I was giving an example of a time in which screaming "I have a medical condition!" doesn't give you carte blanche to behave as you like. That there is a massive gulf between "the customer can do whatever they want" and "the customer is fully refused service".

It's the same thing with the mask restrictions with COVID. Even if one has a legitimate medical condition that means they can't wear a mask does not mean that they then have the unfettered right to wander around a store with no mask on. The store has the right to restrict how you shop with them as long as they are willing to acquiesce to "reasonable accommodations".
