People waiting to make lefts out of parking lots as well as waiting to take unprotected left hand turns during rush hour is what causes backups.
By people, you mean women. They are guilty as frick of doing this. Instead of taking a right in about 30 seconds and going a 1/4 mile up the road and turning left to making a quick U-turn - they will go to turn left at a fricking impossible intersection at rush hour and will wait 15 minutes until both lanes are clear in a miracle situation.

These threads are my favorite on td.com

They mobilized with heavy equipment, dirt, etc at Nicholson/Lee. Moved around a little. Nothing happened. They packed up and left.

Yeah people trying to make a left turn across multiple lanes of traffic during rush hour always causes problem. This was a good move by the city.

Exactly why Siegen from Airline to Perkins needs to be reengineered.
Shopping center entrances and exits need better controls.

And what does BR have against designing u turn lanes into the road plans? U turns are great when planned properly.

Wanna take a left towards highland from Winn Dixie/ Canes? Too bad. How about making an easy left to the McDonald's? Tough shite. Why was this needed and what does it help? Whoever the traffic genius is out there that decided they really needed to give their buddy a bullshite contract, I hope you get cancer of the balls. At least BR traffic is finally fixed though

I still wish there were right turn lanes in both directions of Lee turning onto Burbank.

You’re an idiot. Those median bumpers are the safest thing to happen there.

people like you are why the traffic is so bad in Baton Rouge. you are too selfish to realize you trying to do this backs up 2 lanes of traffic when you pull out and have to wait for oncoming traffic. You back you those 2 lanes which inturn back up the previous light which causes a grid lick from some fagot like yourself wanted to run the yellow light when they knew they would be sitting in the middle of the intersection, but they got themselves in on that light cycle.

They need to connect the parking lot of Walgreens to the rest of the shopping center. That way you can take a right out on Highland

that's awesome. I forgot I started this thread and as I was reading the topics I thought 'Who's this a-hole?' Turns out, I'm that a-hole, I must have been in a shitty mood that day

Calm down Francis. I'm pretty confident that I am not the source of Baton Rouge's traffic woes but I'll get SWB to do a study to confirm

That's why I said if planned properly.

But what's better all these suicide lanes or carefully planned U-turns?

Siegen if reengineered with U-turns, designated right turn lanes, etc. instead of the suicide lanes and shopping center exits and entrances wherever; could be made much more useful and a whole lot safer.
