You don't need to put money in that barista's tip jar. According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics their average wage is $12 an hour."
Believe that includes tipping. Or what they report.

If you give me terrible service, you aren't getting shite. Servers aren't even a necessity. I'd rather go get my food from the counter myself. The only person at a restaurant that does shite I couldn't already do with minimum effort is the chef.
having said that, your post gives me the impression that you don't know what good service is, have never served tables, and weren't going to tip the guy anyway.

How long ago was this if you dont mind me asking? I used to valet at the Westin Galleria(as well as the Grand Lux and Grille adjacent). The valet company that runs the valet there has properties all over the metroplex, but they put their best employees in the company to work at the Galleria. Because there is a shitload of money to be made. On weekends I usually made north of $200 a shift. Some nights I made over $300 or $400, my best nights I cleared $500
I think of it as five years ago, but it was probably ten or twelve. My Lumina was blown up in Battle L.A. and that movie came out in 2011.

Based on your obviously rustled jimmies in re my post, I find it 100% plausible that you're a typically lazy pussy snowflake who 'feels entitled' to everything whether it's deserved or not. Good luck with that waiter position; probably the only one you're capable or 'qualified' to handle.

Pointing out your poor grammar and lack of punctuation in that unintelligent stream of consciousness makes me rustled? And entitled? And a pussy?

Who said I am a waiter?

Thank you for repeatedly using apostrophes to offset your comments, otherwise I wouldn't have picked up on your sarcasm.

To tip nothing is shite. Servers have to pay out 3% of total sales in tip share. With no tip it's like they are paying to serve you.
Maybe negotiate a better offer?
If an employee doesn't like his wages there are options available in recourse.

Just checking in to see if OP ever said what restaurant in Mobile this was. No? Ok I'll try back later

Yes, along with your obvious deflection and unfortunate puerile use of the term "dumpster fire," which I neglected to mention before.

I'm sure google can help you.

I don't do google, I would just rather stay uninformed.
That sure was a "cute" word, though.

Oh good; you did that correctly. Be careful, the quotation marks policeman is on patrol.

I don't know, I just made up that number as an example, but baristas make at least the minimum wage, whereas servers make like $2.13/hr in most places

Let me guess, you're that guy who chugs down 15 to 16 sweet teas or diet cokes during a meal and gets pissed if you have to wait on a refill?
nope

so if the ups driver delivers a $400 product in a 2 sq foot box...
should he get more for that than a $10 product in the same box... no..
I'll gladly tip good or excellent service properly - the shitty service... nope...
but I do not agree with the logic of paying someone more to bring a po boy to a table as opposed to prime rib.
and twice I have complained to managers or even owners... and the replies have always been the same....
not much I can do about it I am short of staff and can't get people to work.
having the manager comp a meal does nothing to solve the problem.
I know one of the people i gave the 1 penny tip to was fired after the owner/chef found out why she got a 1 penny tip....
if the service is good it is rewarded.. if not.... it is not rewarded nor placated...

Stupid arse. He's making $50K a year to deliver boxes. He's not a waiter.

That's the beauty of the system. You start out working at a low end place or possibly a shithole like Buffalo Wild Wings or Chilis. Work your arse off and have a good attitude and move on to better places serving more expensive food to better customers who appreciate you more.
Along the way it's expected that you learn more about how a real restaurant works, how to time the meal for your customer, how to discuss the ins and outs of the menu, how to help the customer with beer or wine selections.

Don't mind that asshat, log-whatever; he chooses to ignore logic, reason, or any mentality other than his entitled one. He's never coming off his emotional, a-logical stance of being entitled to a tip regardless of how awful the service is, & he'll make every unreasonable excuse to attempt to justify it. He's obviously bitter that his part-time lunch service position at his local Chili's, which he considers a 5-star dining establishment, is his ceiling.

If you were paid 2.13/hr you'd sing different tune. I get there is a point where service is terrible but a 2 dollar tip can be more.of an insult than zero tip
