Colorado = Blue State = Liberal Politics = CNN = Everyone Scared = Mask Nazi's
Texas, other then Austin and maybe some large metro areas are the opposite.
In St Tammany I have rarely had anyone say anything about masks. Other then a trip to Starbucks, and my bi-yearly visit to SprawlMart no one says squat!
Learned quickly to avoid places that are going to be heavy in liberal employee and customers.

The Texas state AG is threatening to sue Travis County and the City of Austin because they are still enforcing the mask mandate.

Razoo's Cajun Cafe comes to mind.
Nah, there are quite a few Louisiana transplants in Collin County and Mckinney that have opened up restaurants.
Bayou Jack's on the Square, and Dodie's was good last time I went.

Metairie is lost IMO... had a mask on at Short Stop po boy restaurant on Transcontinental, pulled it down to order, left it down, then the cashier told me to pull it up. Then the line grew and someone else asked a bunch of customers to wait outside. Tables were still closed off.
Chalmette is lost. The St Bernard school board plans to require masks at Chalmette High’s outdoor graduation on May 15th for all graduates and attendees. About 500 graduates will be limited to 4-6 tickets each in an 8,000 seat stadium that has held up to 15,000 for previous football games with standing around the track.

They were strict but not as bad as the OP is claiming.
More than likely they were more strict because Spring Break is here. They should have been at 25% capacity back then as well, so much fewer people around.
The Steamboat Yellow coats were everywhere at base and top of Gondola. Anyone with mask below nose was told to pull it up. Anyone on bus with mask below nose was told to put it up.
I was on the night bus heading back from town, when a couple and their young daughter (early teenish) got on the bus. She could not find her mask and was trying to took her nose in shirt. A local was berating them for endangering him.
It was bad. It was not the tourists being mask nazis, we obviously except the risks and why we are there. The locals were acting like arse holes a lot. Well except for the Mexicans there, they do not give a shite.

You do realize that many places have been doing this for quite some time. Maybe venture outside of big dumbass liberal cities.
Just b/c a place has a mask sign doesn't mean they give a shite if you wear one.

Meanwhile..... 2 short hour drive to the east nazi Alex box stadium minimum wage workers are chastising men, women and children alike for not wearing paper masks over their mouths at an outdoor event.

Where is CNN to point out all the Covid spikes in Texas?

I went to academy today to buy some camping stuff for my son and there was a greeter at the door telling people to wear a mask, the woman in front of me had to go back to her car to get one
However, once I got into the store - none of the customers were wearing them properly
Bizarre

McDonald's to keep dining rooms closed in Texas, Mississippi
(Reuters) - McDonald’s Corp will keep dining rooms in its Texas and Mississippi restaurants closed, even as the two U.S. states lifted coronavirus curbs allowing businesses to reopen at full capacity.
The fast-food chain told Reuters on Thursday it was not planning to make any changes to its COVID-19 protocols right away.

State should sue and restrict any state money that may be used to enforce mask mandates. Governor’s order includes that nothing in order is stopping businesses from having their own specific mitigation rules including the wearing of masks. It’s even still recommended by state but just cannot be criminalized and enforced like Austin and Travis county appear to be doing.

Bayou Jacks closed last summer unfortunately. They were better than Razoos IMO. Dodies is OK. There's no place like home for good seafood.
We've been frequenting restaurants in McKinney and wear masks to and from the table. We must be going to laid back places because it's pretty casual. I'm sure the restaurants are just glad to be making a little money again. I feel for people in states that are hard core anti business/freedom.
