My mom used a sperm donor to get pregnant with me (she's gay and was with a woman at the time) When I was 12 she managed to find my biological father and asked him if he wanted to meet me. He said yes and we tried to set up a meeting a few times but he cancelled every time. Then I found out he died of a prescription drug OD when I was in high school

I don't really have any advice for you but I wish you the best. It would be cool if you guys form a relationship and I am sorry that count kept him out of your life when he was younger. No matter how you decide to move forward with this don't let anyone judge you for it, its totally up to you at this point and no matter what you decide it is going to be tough.

So you are basically Jon Stewart in Big Daddy? All kidding aside, props to you for wanting to be a part of the kid's life. Not an easy thing to confront, but it sounds like you have your head on straight and have the kid's best interest at heart. Best of luck.

Sorry OP, but you got a chick pregnant, and tried to get her to abort the child and now you're playing the victim? If it were up to you your son would be dead right now. Are you going to share that with him down the line when he asks why you weren't there? How does that go...."well son I told her to kill you and she swore she did but your mom is a crazy liar and kept you anyway"

Besides the typical electronic toys for boys, a 10 year old wants/needs one thing the most--to feel loved. You need to do whatever you can to make him feel that. He needs to feel truly loved. Tell him and show him that you love him and are proud of him. Don't be afraid to use those words. Hug him. Kids need it and it's sad that so many do not get that from their parents.
Stability would be nice too if possible in this situation.

When you meet him, make sure to try to lift his self confidence by letting him know you wanted him less than his mom and wanted to abort him. Piece of shite.
