He is pretty far from us. At least 6 hour drive.
Dad is really cool. Told me he cried all day knowing that his son would get to meet his biological father.
He might have reached out to spite her after the divorce. Either way I want to help him any way possible. I told him if I ever over step my boundaries then to just say something and I will step back.
He is my vote for man of the decade.

He damn sure can. I have the same situation with my son. I have him half the time. But in the custody agreement I have it in there something like this: It is the responsibility of the parent whose custody the child is in to arrange for travel to and from all extracurricular activities. If said parent is not able to arrange for travel, they are to notify the other parent no less than 3 hours in advance so the other parent may transport the child to the event and return the child home after.
Obviously it's worded a little different, but attorneys put those requirement in custody agreements all the time. I made sure it was in mine because my ex wife is the same way. My son is playing the best ball of his life and she has been to ZERO games this year. I've picked him up from her house.
