The “daddy’s little princess” mentality has created a crop of girls that are absolutely ruthless and vicious.

Girls have always been that way in junior high

It’s part of growing up. If you try to insulate them from it then they’ll end up not gaining necessary social skills needed in adulthood. Just guide them down the right path and be there when they need you

The thought of my kid being exposed to the things I was at the ages I was exposed to them at keeps me up at night. It's really tough to not shelter your kid from the world's garbage.

It’s better they get exposed to the fact the world is garbage while you still have power and influence over them. If you shelter them they’ll get exposed to it as an adult and won’t know how to deal with it

Sounds about right for middle school these days. Hate to break it to you, but when I was 12 or 13 years old in middle school back in 2007, racism was normal and I got turned down asking a 13 year old girl at the time out because she claimed she already had a 20+ year old boyfriend. Welcome to it!

Its the public school system. I home school all of mine but my high schooler. My home school kids get daily interactions with other home school kids. Good kids.

Home school is not what it once was. Its a movement.

It’s much worse now than when I raised my two sons in the late 80s through the 90s.

Yet it should be something they've grown out of by college. But that's not happening.

My parents didn't allow trash in the house, which meant no TV. We could go to friends houses to watch football though.

But we were allowed to be free range out of the house, as long as we didn't bring dysfunction home.

It allowed us to cope and develop skills while not having parents sanction that shite. Not having a tv in the house, and making us read was the best thing my parents ever did for me.

What about college? Workforce?

It’s better for kids to learn life lessons at 12 vs 24.

You don't need schools to socialize your kids. In fact, it appears to be where the dysfunction is grown. We've done a great job creating anxious, withdrawn children because the parents want someone else to raise them during the daytime.

Pound for pound, girls aged 12-16 are the meanest most viscous creatures on earth.

My girls are still both good kids with big hearts, but the stuff they dealt with at that age was unreal.

Ain't that the truth. I'd rather get in a pit with a wolverine than a pack of teenage girls during shark week
