Maybe you’re correct. If that’s the case, Trump should have made it more clear, because it looks bad when you read it without giving deeper thought to what he is possibly trying to say. That’s why this just gives his enemies ammo, even if the tweets were made with the intention of proving a point.

There was a time a few years ago where it was the “in” thing to be against vaccines. Trump was just joining the bandwagon.

I’ll grant you that he changed his tune on that, but it was probably his most dangerous position of all time IMO. The fact that it was barely discussed in the media tells how easily we are distracted by completely irrelevant things like politicians having affairs, saying dirty things, etc.

The vaccine stuff was one of the things that made it completely impossible for me to vote for him. I’m just thankful he didn’t publicly day that stuff much because society turning on vaccines would be a public health atomic bomb on our country.

Here's the problem with that line of thinking:

Trump cares about the country doing well only insofar as it makes him look good. The success of the country is a means to an end, which is his own self-aggrandizement.

A good leader, at any level, must be willing to make decisions that are unpopular or impose hardship in the short term for a long term benefit. He must be willing to acknowledge his own shortcomings, own his mistakes, and accept responsibility when things go wrong. He can't try to escape responsibility by constantly scapegoating outsiders, blaming other people, or claiming that anyone who points out a legitimate problem is just a "hater" who wants him to fail.

At times, Trump can do some of these things to some limited degree. But when he does, there's a constant undercurrent that he is being "handled", "advised", and generally being dragged kicking and screaming into taking those actions against his every instinct.

You wouldn't want to work for a boss who acted like that. You wouldn't hire an employee who acted like that, either. Unfortunately, those traits are central to how Trump views the world.
