I fear all is lost in middle TN

a year ago there were houses for sale everywhere and while the prices had gone up pretty significantly it was still manageable to a degree.
now the market is virtually nonexistent in Nashville & Franklin and prices have basically doubled in the last 12 months.
every neighbor who sells their house tells me 'it was a person from california' and there are 9 offers over asking price 10 minutes after the house hits the market.
amazon and oracle are turning this area into another shitty austin. i never understand why these people leave their 'utopia' just to go to another nice area and ruin it by doing the same things that caused them to flee their previous home.
sure i'm thrilled at how much my house is worth but not if i have to watch my beloved piece of paradise turn to shite with all these clowns bringing their 'california values' to the country.

TN is gonna be a blue state in the very near future as the locusts spread their pestilence across red states. We're going to see a pretty radical cultural and political shift in this country as these people keep blindly pushing the Democrat button. ID, MT, AZ, GA and TX are on the chopping block too.

They’re creating sustainable and high paying tech jobs with a highly educated and skilled workforce.
Would you rather a shitty non existent one dimensional petrochemical industry like the one in Louisiana?
Louisiana envies the state of Tennessee and their bustling economy.

Sorry baw, I've been handing out real estate ads for TX and TN to any known liberals in order to assist the state turning red.

This has to be one of the biggest myths going around right now. 34% of Californians voted for Trump, that's over 6 million people. If people are leaving California due to it being too liberal they are likely republicans.
FWIW, I know many people that leave places like Nashville, Atl, Charleston, etc and buy elsewhere due to it being "cheaper". This isn't some unique issue with only Californians.

Good news is that TN went heavier for Trump than any other state in 2020 (by total votes) but that doesn't help your local government much.

It's weird that Clay Travis may turn out to be Batman when it comes to this

Bredesen was a Democrat but not the "insane" democrat like they all are now but he was the last good mayor Nashville had. He was pro-business and I give him props for the development happening now.
Its been a constant clown-show since him and amateur hour with nothing but morons in charge of the city. We're in a race now to elect the biggest morons on the planet for mayor with cities like chicago and...new orleans.

Thanks for dragging us into this

I think TX is closer than TN to turning blue or at least a battleground state.

the economy was rolling long before amazon and oracle got ridiculous tax incentives to come here.

It really isn’t.

You’re right. I’m in Williamson county and have welcomed some very right leaning folks with open arms from CA, MI, OR, and NV. And yeah, they’re all paying cash and upwards of 40% over asking price.

Austin sucks politically, but there are some redeeming qualities.
And the Hill Country is nice...

You have no fricking clue what youre talking about.
Maybe get out, talk to people who don't think like you, visit some of these places and ask people personally. You'll find the OP is exact.
They aren't fleeing politics. They destroyed their own cities and find the quality of life to be droppings. They are incapable of understanding the connection to politics.

I'm just musing out loud here and not really looking for a reply but I often wonder if enough people are leaving blue states to turn red states blue, shouldn't the states they left from start trending red?
