Thanks for posting this.
While I’m fully aware of what’s going on and I really do spend A lot of time with my kids. It’s nice to reassure me that it’s limited and make it count.
Makes me want to go wake them up and read another story….

I fully believe when all is said and done and we reach the end, it’s the time we spent with the ones we love that matters insofar as the question of a good or wasted life is concerned.

Good luck to your son and I’m glad it seems they’re getting a normal young msn to serve.. I admire your trust, probably through your experience, in a period of unknown in the foreign arena and in some circles of their leadership.

Well said Darth. I remember this day vividly when my son joined the Navy a few years ago.
And then came graduation from Basic. A whole new level of proud.

I’ll be counting down the days for the next 22 weeks. It’s been decades since I counted “X- days & a wake up”. But that’s what I’ll be doing.

It'll be over before you know it, then it'll be AIT (A-school in the Navy). That's when they get into the really cool stuff, and can't tell you about it.
