What it comes down to is how the owners train these beautiful dogs

It comes down to DNA. If you have a Golden that dog is most likely going to have a strong drive to retrieve. If you have a Pit Bull it's DNA says it can have aggressive nature and it was originally bred to aggravate the shite out of bulls by biting them so it will have a strong bite. If raised properly it may never attack somebody but you can't argue what's in its DNA.

Or, you know, actually explain why they have issues with the breed(s) of dog that is responsible for more hospital visits and fatalities in the US. But you’re right, it’s probably just upvotes.

It's like these pit bull defenders don't understand how genetics work.

Ignore that troll. He/she is one of the least valuable posters here. Which is actually quite impressive in its own right.

Pit bulls were not bred for bull baiting...they came after bull baiting had stopped and were bred for dog fighting.

Cuz the OT let's their wives pick the dog. 9 out of 10 OTers have a little prissy dog

You can have a dog that’s not prissy and not get a pit bull. It is possible

Bull baiting used Bulldogs and maybe mastiffs...but became frowned upon due to the cruelty to the bulls.

Then Rat baiting with terrier mixes became popular....but it was a pain in the arse to catch rats to put in the baiting pits.

So they bred the pit bull strictly as a fighting dog.

Its pretty fricken ignorant and stupid. I've never met an aggressive pitbull before and I have several friends and family members who have them as family pets.

It’s funny how you use the term ignorant and then employ anecdotal evidence to support your flawed opinion.

My grandmother's neighbor had two. They were the sweetest things and would not hurt anyone. One day, they decided to attack her (the owner). There was no known cause or reason other than something set them off and they attacked their owner.

Nearly the same story with a buddy of mine. One day it attacked his wife. Literally tore her upper lip off. Poor girl will need a series of plastic surgeries to give her some semblance of a lip back.

My next door neighbor has two. One is a menace that my neighbor knows can't be trusted. He keeps real close tabs on it.

The other we've know since it was 8 weeks old. One day while on a walk, it attacked a basset hound. It took 3 adults to pull the pit off the other dog.

Cops won't do anything about it, because the other dog did not sustain life threatening injuries.

It's not the owners. It's the breed.

Some guy once posted some you tube videos of cops shooting them.

Good stuff.

And it's also the owners for owning the breed.
