If bred properly Rottweilers are great dogs. The AKC is irresponsible and at fault for dogs being bred that shouldn't because the AKC does not require temperament evaluations before registering a dog to breed. If the AKC was more responsible and not just worried about profits a lot of dog breeds would be much better off. For instance, if you want to breed a rottweiler in Germany, you have to register the dog with the ADRK. It is much harder then AKC registration and focuses more on the proper temperament a rottweiler should have than looks.
